It's a small chunky book ( A5 sized spiral-bound) gives you an instant "hit" of spelling knowledge.
It's designed for adults who need to improve spelling, and for teachers who need a reference and resource guide.

A helpful practical spelling guide

I loved Joanne's other books, and her website, so definitely had to get this. It's for both American and British English users. It's a practical book full of information and exercises. Some rules are easy, for example, adding -es to words, the y to i rule and adding -ly to words, but some take a bit more brainpower. As the book says, if you don't remember the rule at least you know why the spelling is the way it is, and maybe you'll remember the letter pattern and see what looks right. The one thing about her books is they're easy to understand and no jargon, unless absolutely necessary and that's why there's a useful section on key terms so if you're not sure what a noun, adjective or verb is then the book explains them. You can dip into the book and use it as a reference book or you can work your way through the book.
